A. You expect a short and concise answer to that? That seems quite unreasonable but I will try to sum it all up for you as best as I can. There are those that say we are not a democracy, but that is not entirely true. We are a republic. More precise an answer to that is that we are a representative republican form of democracy. Direct democracy amounts to mob rule. Under the principles of federalism we are a league of sovereign states with the propensity of mob rule broken up into what is known as little 'r' republics,(states, counties, cities, communities, families).
